Fifteen years of other people's Mondays.
Summex Technologies LLC has been running technology for businesses since 2011. Long enough to have seen most of it, and to know which parts are worth worrying about.
We started in 2011 doing what most small IT firms do — fixing whatever broke, for whoever called. What changed over time was not the work so much as the shape of it. The clients who had the least trouble were consistently the ones where somebody knew the environment properly and had a plan for it.
So the business reorganized around that. Named teams instead of a dispatch pool. One ticketing system instead of a shared inbox. Monitoring on everything, so a failing disk becomes a Wednesday afternoon task rather than a Monday morning outage. Documentation that is current, and that belongs to the client.
We are based outside New York City and we support clients across the country — New York and New Jersey, but also Texas, California, Pennsylvania, and elsewhere. Where a company is located turned out to matter far less than whether someone at their provider actually knows their environment.
A lot of this work is done remotely, because that is genuinely the fastest way to resolve most things. A lot of it is not. Cabling, hardware, network builds, office moves, and the problems nobody can diagnose over a screen share all need someone standing in the room. We treat that as core to the service rather than an exception to it, and we arrange onsite wherever the site is.
We are not the cheapest option and we do not try to be. What we offer is a provider that knows your setup, answers the phone, and tells you the truth about what needs doing — including when the answer is that nothing does.
Say the boring answer
Most of what improves a business’s technology is unexciting: patching, backups, MFA, documentation. We would rather tell you that than sell you something with a better story attached.
Same team, every time
Accounts are assigned to specific engineers at onboarding. Continuity is not a nice-to-have — it is the difference between a five-minute fix and an hour of re-explaining your business.
Write it down
Environments get documented and the documentation stays current. If you ever leave, you take it with you. Making yourself hard to replace by hoarding knowledge is not a business model we respect.
No manufactured urgency
When something genuinely needs doing now, we will say so plainly and explain why. When it can wait until next budget year, we will say that too, even though it is the less profitable sentence.

Founder & President
Yilmaz has worked in IT for over 20 years. He holds a BS in Computer Science from Queens College and began as a network administrator, before moving into enterprise systems work at Transfield Services — first leading the systems team, then running systems delivery. He founded Summex in 2011.
He started it over something that had bothered him for years: how IT companies treat the people who call them. The hold music, the handoffs, explaining your own setup from scratch to whoever picks up. He is candid that he dislikes calling customer support of any kind, and built Summex largely to find out whether it could be done properly.
That is still the part he keeps for himself. He stays personally involved with every client rather than handing accounts off once they are signed, and remains hands-on alongside the team.
Next step
Come and have the first conversation.
It costs nothing and it is not a sales call. We ask what your setup looks like, what has been going wrong, and whether we are genuinely the right fit.
